get back in line

I am shocked, shocked I tell you, that Patches: an insane, druggie redhead who represents RI, his murderous, drunk father who represents MA and a third aristocrat who happened to be born while being a staunch anti-environmentalist would together endorse a first term senator from IL for president because he wants change. What does an entrenched lifetime appointed senator have to do with change?

If any kennedy wanted to support change (whatever that is) they would quit and go in rehab and let change take place. But like usual with liars, the half-truth comes out at the end of his sermon: As long as your winning Obama, I'm on your side. If not, well I'm being plugged back into the machine. Now that's Kennedy Leadership.

This move must completely piss off Billary and that is never good for your health and well-being. The two candidates completely ignored each other last night at the State of the Union speech and barely had the courtesy to support the President without displaying their snob appeal. Is it now impossible for the two to run together?

Here is some classic early B-52's to calm you down.

thaw the freeze

Still more interesting developments on the White Stripes Conquest singles. Apparently with a little patience, tweezers and sharp fingernails the newly applied ‘corrected’ stickers can be removed. Boy, what a mess.

The super-limited debut single by Modern Action on white vinyl sold out in 3 days and the 350 copy repress is now available on black vinyl at interpunk.

Here’s another chance at a signed Muldoons 7" single and you might as well pick up their solid full length while it’s on sale.

The Gutter Twins are steaming down the track with Idle Hands as Greg Dulli and Mark Lanegan team up for what they term as the Eisley Brothers on acid. Highly recommended and they are visiting Boston in March.

fingers crossed

I've been trying to find a way to archive and list all the great projects that have been crossing my desk recently. Any good ideas welcome. Expecting a big mail day today. Stay tuned.

The limited 7” single for the Whirlyball show are now available and there will be another Les Savy Fav color repress soon.

Amazing find of the week. A box of Death Cab For Cutie’s Transatlanticism was found at Sonic Boom Records. Grab one if you can.

Updated design for the Rehoboth Cape that want to add a new second floor and expanded to a rather large Colonial.

The first pass at expanding the first floor and add a second floor Master Suite to a Plymouth Ranch near the ocean.

full week

From the ashes of the original Curly’s Pub in Taunton, MA rises the new and improved version with side entry. It’s been a year since the fire and the owner is finally ready to rebuild and expand.

I have started work on converting a Rehoboth Cape into a full size Colonial or mid-size McMansion.

Here are some photos of the limited Altar picture discs on ebay and here is a sample of the hand-sketched Christmas On The Moon singles from The Go.

Circuit City released a exclusive, limited edition version of some classic albums that include cool ipod covers. I visited the local store and cleared them out of the Nirvana and Sublime releases at $10 each and picked up a Weezer for good measure.

vinyl trend

We got out and measured a Barrington Contemporary on the water in the Rumstick Point section as shown on the right. You get there by going to the end of the road and going down a private lane at the edge of town. Lots of space and the owner wants to expand on the right.

More info on the misprinted Conquest singles. I was able to convince a seller from Colorado to put a set up for $60 and grabbed it immediately. Some sets have sold (and been listed) on ebay in the $120+ range but no one knows how many singles are out there.

Snapped this photo as a helicopter passed directly overhead this past weekend. Incredible how noising it is before they arrive and strangely silent immediately after they pass by. Notice the giant tree in the way? That's the one that keeps most of my backyard in the shade. Hopefully we can get rid of it soon enough.

Surprised to read about vinyl records in Time Magazine. The stat that stood out at me was the total of 990K vinyl records pressed this year. I question how they could come up with that number. Now I unfortuately admit that this rag arrives at my house via paid subscription. This democratic party newsletter is fun for the global cooling crowd and the letters are usually fun to read. And I'm sick of Joe Clinton-Klein who never fails to kiss ass with some clever clintonbot spin. Of course, the subscription "deal" I got runs out in November of this year. How convenient.

Don’t wait on this single. Here is the new super-group, Modern Action with their debut 7” single available from Interpunk.

you just do as your told

The final design for a Barrington Ranch (on the right) has been sent out for bidding. Overall, the house looks good but zoning approval could be an issue for the porches.

Entering the home stretch on my Beatles Longbox transaction. The buyer sent over payment and the item has been shipped to a legitimate address in CA. Just waiting for feedback and then I can try to grab one of my most wanted items.

A few interesting items recently including a limited press Picture Disc version of the Sunn o)) / Boris collaboration, Altar. A little expensive at $50 each and Southern Lord has two more different colors available for the vinyl press. The pressing info states there are now 10,000 copies pressed on vinyl and most have sold.

The LP for Death Cab For Cutie full length Plans is still available at Barsuk Records but will be OOP very shortly. Don’t miss out. All the bands’ now OOP vinyl has gone up in value, along with any and all Modest Mouse stuff.

An interesting development with the three different Conquest 7” singles that were released last week from The White Stripes. Apparently the first press of the singles had the wrong sticker applied (YDKWLI) and were shipped before Warner Bros. recalled them. So now the ebay wackos are driving up the price. I was not one of the lucky few, as I cancelled my order from Insound and Interpunk (uggghh) after getting the bonus slipmat ordered from KungFu. Warner has stated they will be putting the correct stickers over the wrong stickers and some collectors are comparing the items to The Beatles Y&T collectible.

low expectations

Guitar superstar is the best gift ever!! There will be many hours spent playing Iron Man, You Really Got Me and Purple Haze by Jimi Hendrix. The game includes 7 other classic guitar songs with alternate songs titles and no lyrics. Lots of fun.

Recent projects include the new house pictured above that is being proposed on The Cape. Here’s the rear of the building. The Barrington Ranch renovation has been scaled down a little on the second floor but we have added a side porch entry and moved the kitchen.

Great new song and single is available from a revitalized Italy Records. The Go released Christmas On The Moon and information to order the limited vinyl is available under the posts section.

10 cent listing day on ebay always brings out rare items with very high prices and last week was no exception. Tons of rare Nirvana vinyl was listed and I was able to re-list some unsold items and added a few more at a discounted price. To my surprise, the Beatles White Album Longbox has taken off in price. I’m still not sure if the bids are real but the two bidders seem legit and it may end up being my best deal ever.

As RI tumbles into a financial toilet our fearless leader, the states best drunk-driving lawyer, BMurphy opened the '08 session yesterday with some classic stuff. He said “the financial problems our General Assembly created around this state have caused the pheasants (or taxpayers) to rise up and we cannot bring the negativity to this chamber. If we keep our fingers in our ears and continue to mumble la la la la, we will be able to raise taxes, keep crimaliens in our schools, get more people on state funding and continue to overpay all of our state employees. Just hold the line boys and blame the governor.”
